Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing an expectant mother and her beautiful 3-year-old daughter in the heart of the Peak District. Surrounded by it’s famous rocky terrain, golden ferns, and the timeless beauty of nature, I set out to capture the bond between mother and child—a moment in their journey that’s as fleeting as it is beautiful.

There’s something truly special about maternity sessions with little ones. It’s a time when the connection between mother and child is deepened by the promise of new life. Watching the tender interactions between this mother and her daughter was heartwarming—little hands reaching out, giggles filling the air, and quiet moments where they shared knowing looks. I aimed to capture these precious interactions as naturally as possible, embracing the simplicity and authenticity that I believe make these photos so timeless.
