Wedding at the Sheffield Botanical Gardens
We love a wedding at the Sheffield Botanical Gardens, it makes for an exquisite backdrop for any wedding photographer. The lush greenery and flood of natural light would make any photographer excited to shoot here, and we are so lucky to live just around the corner.
When Emily and Tom first contacted us we knew it was a match-made in heaven. The Botanical Gardens being one of the first sources of inspiration to us when we first re-located to Sheffield, and since, we have found ourselves working here on a number of occasions whether it be for weddings, on a fashion shoot, or a creative collaboration.
We found Jess online, when searching for Sheffield based photographers. We reviewed a few websites but Jess’ style stood out as very timeless and natural, exactly what we were looking for.
We found Jess absolutely fantastic, from start to finish. Jess was professional, whilst extremely friendly and personable. She spent time upfront meeting us over a glass of wine to get to know us and confirm the type of photography we were looking for. During the more formal shots, she made us both feel very relaxed and used her experience to give us direction as and when needed. Looking back at the majority of the photos we didn’t even realise Jess was there capturing some lovely little moments. The sequence of the day unfolded as we looked back at the photos; she recorded such a special time with close friends and family, with such detail, beauty and sincerity.
Thank you, thank you, thank you :)
I used a bit of lens whacking (free lensing) when taking the couple portraits in the greenhouse. The leafy green plants, together with the light flooding in just felt like a great opportunity to do so, and I’m really happy with the results. My favorite image using this technique has to be the black-and-white of Emily on her own (above), she just looks so beautiful and the technique has worked on this frame like a dream.
Capturing Emily and Tom’s intimate marriage has been a great honour, and to be able to record this moment is sacred and what wedding photography is all about for us. The emotions, expressions, and atmosphere cannot be staged or replicated in these moments. What is captured during this time is real, raw and quite special.
And many thanks to Rangefinder Online for having their wedding as “featured wedding of the week.”
